Erectile Dysfunction

Phosphodiesterase Inhibitors: Phosphodiesterase Inhibitors: These oral meds have been the mainstay of ED management over the last few decades. They are safe to take in appropriate patient populations, but in certain populations can be harmful, even lethal. This is why it is so important to see a certified professional in this field who will screen patients appropriately. Many of these new ED apps have commercials which state themselves, “Why trust an online experience?”, then proceed to ask you to come online for their product. It just doesn’t make sense. Our compounded medications are made specifically for difficult-to-treat ED patients with specialized troches which dissolve under the tongue leading to more efficient and faster absorption of the medication.

Intracorporeal Injections: In severe cases of ED, a local injection using FDA approved medications allows for involuntary blood flow into the penis which then creates penetrable injections. While many men do not want to hear the words needle and penis in the same sentence, these formulations have worked in the most severe cases of ED.

Premature ejaculation treatment: A side effect of certain antidepressants is delayed time to orgasm. For this reason, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are used to help delay ejaculation. These medications usually take five to 10 days to begin working but it might take two to three weeks of treatment before the full effect. However, the improvement in time to ejaculation has greatly improved the quality of life in many of my patients.

Low-Intensity Extracorporeal  Shockwave Therapy

This novel approach to the management of ED is a safe, non-invasive method of creating new blood vessels in the penis. This new blood flow allows many patients to reduce their need to take medications, and in some cases, removes the need for meds altogether. Study after study shows that LIST is very safe and significantly improves ED compared to placebo. Don’t be duped into extremely expensive wave therapies, the technologies are exactly the same.

Testosterone Therapy

As we age, our ability to produce testosterone decreases every single year. This results in decreases in energy levels, sexual desire, and ability to perform in the bedroom. Oftentimes this medical problem becomes a relationship problem because men tend to become more sedentary as their energy levels wane, which can affect spending quality time with their families. Sometimes we may avoid intimacy because of the lack of libido. This can result in the women questioning their attractiveness to their partners, or worse, accuse them of getting it somewhere else. Dr Arakaki will perform an initial evaluation, then order lab tests in order to confirm the diagnosis of low testosterone. As with any other medication testosterone is safe in many populations, but can be dangerous in others. This is the reason you need to see a qualified and experienced physician who has treated thousands of patients from all walks of life and knows how to handle any situations which may arise. In addition to testosterone, we will monitor your PSA, blood viscosity, liver function, and other hormones which can be affected by testosterone therapy. After taking testosterone therapy, many men report improved relationships with their spouses and with their children, their ability to lose fat and gain muscle is improved with regular workouts, and feel more confident. Many men also report that stressful situations don’t seem as stressful as before taking testosterone. Studies have shown that testosterone therapy, with the proper monitoring in place, is safe and effective for as long as 20 years.
